The Abalone Altar Dish

This trifecta of Altar dishes shimmering in bronze and silver, is in honor of the water kin. An abalone shell is one of the most mystical and elusive finds in the natural world. These dishes may be used as sacred smoke burners. The alchemy of water, metal, fire, plant into sacred smoke is a blessing we share with our ancestors. Yet abalone is now an endangered species. Ecologically, they maintain the ocean habitat by controlling algal density. In the California Indigenous world, the abalone was a precious food. This faithful ally to the balance of great systems is who I am honoring and praying for. 13 % of sales will go to abalone restoration and protection efforts via Center for Biological Diversity.
