Other realm canines roam the landscapes and mythologies of the Welsh. Cyn Annwn may be known as a cousin to many other mythical canines known as Cu-Sith, Garnr, Keelut, Wepwawet, Cerberus, Fenrir, Coyote. Travelers in the realms between the living and deceased will often encounter a canine in the role as guardian of the otherworld or as a protective guide. The fierce nature of these canines as gatekeeper of the underworld are also  to ward off those whose time is not to enter the underworld. As psychopomp one such canine became my familiar and an ally to escort the trapped souls on their journey to the Otherworld. Canine kin in this and other realms may be known as trusted heart allies and protectors. This is in honor of this ancient tie to our canine kin.
